General Stuff

I finally beat God of War. Its one of the best games I have played in a while. It had a very strong story to it and was fun to play. There were some tedious areas towards the end, which I can see would aggrevate someone who doesn’t play games much, but overall definetly a game to look into. However, be warned that there is some pornographic cutscenes and the game is rather violent in both play and cutscenes. Also, at the end there was mention that “Kratos will return” so that can only mean there is a sequel in the works. It’ll be interesting to see how they try to continue to story of Kratos.

I also created a Gnome Shadowknight character on Winter’s Roar. I named him Lopu and will play him when I have time since there are some other games I want to play. Plus, I reinstalled Unreal Tournament 2004 and my brother came over to play some Onslaught the other night. I forgot how fun that game can be. Before, when I was competing and playing in a clan, I guess I just got burnt out on it. If you play the game, you can add me to buddies and find me under the name “CyberManX”.

Over the weekend, I was able to work in my garden some and take care of the weeds starting to appear. You can check out the latest pictures in my Album. I’ve started mulching it also with grass clippings from the yard to help keep the weeds down. I just hope the bugs won’t be too bad in the garden.

The rest of the week is probably going to be fairly busy for me with school and work, but I have a few breaks in between studying and work. Tonight, I plan to go see War of the Worlds with my brother and some of his friends. Then, tomorrow night I get to go see Fantastic Four, due to the fact that my mom won some sneak preview passes to the movie before its release. I have been looking forward to both movies and hopefully they won’t disappoint.

No Time To Relax

Things have been pretty busy and stressful for me lately. I have started working more overtime again as its needed here due to people taking vacation, calling in sick, etc. Plus, school is pretty much in full swing and I have my first test at the end of this week.

On the bright side, we found out yesterday that the newest addition to our family in November is going to be a girl. We were hoping for a boy, but either way we are both happy about it. The wife is already picking out some new decor for the baby’s room. Of course, I’ll probably end up being the one who has to do it all, but that’s fine by me. Plus, the Chevrolet Venture that we traded in our Buick Rendezvous for should give us more room when traveling around town and on long trips.

With what little spare time I have, I have been playing God of War. Its a great game so far, although its rather pronographic and violent in some scenes. Definetly, not a game young kids or even teenagers should be playing. I’ll post my thoughts on it in more detail once I finish. I am also going to give a go at Winter’s Roar. Its basically EverQuest, but its free and has the more of an original EverQuest feel to it. I plan to make me a character or two this weekend once I finished my stuff around the house and school work. Anyway, until then…

Games, Movies, and More

I ended up receiving Devil May Cry last Friday and finishing it over the weekend. For being a few years old, its still a fun game. Although on normal mode, it was just to tedious at times. So after restarting, I went with the Easy Automatic Mode and the fun factor increased immensely. I really like the fact that I could fight with a variety of swords and guns. The plot just didn’t seem as good as I thought it was going to be though. It started out great, but the rest of the story just didn’t seem intertwined in the gameplay until I reached the last fourth of the game. Anyway, definetly a game worth renting if your a gamer.

Towards, the end of this week I should be getting Devil May Cry 2. I have heard and read that it was not a great sequel, but I wanted to give it a try anyway to follow along with the story. Maybe, its not as bad as most of the reviews make it out to be.

Lately, it seems the game market is extremely devoid of any good co-op playable games. However, every now and then I am able to find one with my brother that we both like and is fun to play. So the other night we rented Dragon Ball Z: Sagas from Blockbuster. Overall, its a very fun action game and closely follows the Dragon Ball Z storyline (it even includes clips from the cartoon). There are some awkward and annoying camera issues (lack of control, enemies off screen and attacking, etc.), but those issues can easily be overlooked after you get used to it. Most of the time you are each playing a control, but with some bosses you get to swap with the second player after a certain time so you essentially take turns beating up on the boss. This can be very challenging and annoying at times and yet still fun, all at the same time. If your a fan of the cartoon, then you will definetly like this game.

On another note, I have the oppurtunity to rent a bunch of movies until the June 23rd due to a mishap with my brother’s account. You see he canceled his movie pass with Blockbuster over two months ago, but for some reason they decided to up his subscription rate to three movies at a time and continue to charge him. He didn’t realize this until this weekend and was credited back the $60.00. However, he gets to continue to use the pass until it expires again. So I have watched Boogeyman, In Good Company, Assault on Precinct 13, and Suspect Zero over the past few days and will be getting some more movies I have been meaning to watch later tonight on the way home from work. I’ll post my thoughts on the movies I have seen so far tomorrow for those interested.

Things have been fairly good this week, too. We went ahead and purchased a trundle bed from Haverty’s to get ready for the addition to the family in the fall. School also started this week and Linear Elementary Algebra is fairly easy to learn so far. I’m sure it will get more complicated as most math courses do though. For now though, I’m heading home to relax and watch some more movies.

More Content

I am slowing adding more content to my site from the old site as well as new additions. I was able to get the Netflix section up, which will display my recent rental activities as well as my queue. This should help give some idea of what movies I am watching and plan to watch. Plus, I was able to get my About section from the old site put up as well. Although, I do need to update it, which I will get to tomorrow probably.

One of the my Summer 2005 courses starts next week. It will be an independent study for Elementary Linear Algebra, so I just need to make sure I remain diligent enough to study and pass the course. The course itself will run until the end of July and then the other one doesn’t start til July 1st, but will run til the end of July as well. After this semester I will only have three courses left to graudation provided I pass both these courses.

I’ll be working both tomorrow and Sunday, so I hope Devil May Cry arrives from Gamefly. Otherwise, I am going to have to find something else to occupy my time with as it appears its going to be a slow work weekend.

The Mini-Van Search

We have started to look for a mini-van now due to our third child expected in November. From what I have looked at so far it seems the Chevrolet Venture is going to be our best bet, because of the recent GM Employee Discount offer. I’ll most likely due some more research and such before making a final decision though. Plus it all depends on how much we can get for our existing vehicle, which I am hoping will at least be enough to pay off the rest of the loan.

Tonight, I’ll get to register for my two classes for summer semester finally as the hold I had on it previously has been removed. Now I just have to figure out how I am going to pay for it until work can reimburse me for the tuition fees.
